Chess Club

CHESS CLUB

Every Friday from 3.15 to 4.00pm children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been participating in the chess club. 

We started by learning the names of all the pieces and how each of those pieces moved.

The children have now progressed onto recording their moves so that they

can spend time thinking carefully about their next move.

We are now taking part in the annual British Land UK Chess Championship.  This means that over the next seven weeks, each child will play a mini game with another member of the chess club.  They will have the opportunity to win badges, mascots and the overall winner will win a trophy.

If your child is interested in learning how to play chess and playing games, collect a letter from the office.
